Higonokami is a traditional Japanese folding knife. These friction fit folding knives are great for a variety of tasks such as sharpening a pencil, opening packages, foraging and cutting fruit.

They are forged by Mitsuo Nagao in Miki-Hyogo with Yasuki Blue #2 Carbon Steel and cladded with soft iron.

Only knives from Nagao KaneKoma Factory are legally allowed to be called Higonokami, other knife makers must refer to their knives as Higo or Higonokami-Style.

To maintain the knife make sure to keep the blade dry to avoid any rust development and always have your thumb on the lever(chikiri) for safety. The handle, made of brass, will develop a beautiful patina with time, but if you prefer you can also polish it to get a beautiful shine.

This knife comes in 3 different sizes. X-Large (120mm blade), Large ( 90mm blade ) or Medium (80mm blade).
